Your Hosts

Vladka & Richard are a unique blend of Czech and Kiwi and therefore bring you the best of international and local flavour.

Vladka was born and raised in the well-known spa town of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, has a Diploma in Agriculture Management, a Bachelor Degree in Tourism Marketing & Management and for the last decade she has run her own travel consultancy business focused to the Middle Europe market. In conjunction with this she has travelled and guided extensively through New Zealand and Australia.
And - the other way round - during the NZ winter she organises top end guided trips to the Czech Republic for New Zealanders.

She is a member of the Wakatipu Search & Rescue Group as an avalanche and wilderness dog handler, is passionate about the outdoors, writing and photography and is a competent horse woman.

Vladka was recently appointed Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in New Zealand with her office in Queenstown.

Richard is a born-and-bred Southern Man and Glenorchy (particularly Rees Valley) is his home through three past generations of the Kennetts - local high country farmers and miners.

He has dedicated his working life to conservation work in national parks as a ranger, loves history and landscaping and all the rock walls you can see at Precipice Creek came from his patient hands... Richards is also a well experienced Search and Rescue advisor for the Wakatipu region.

If you take a good look, you will meet two cute Jack Russell terriers Sumo and Sharky (well - you don’t have to have a good look - they will be definitely the first to greet you) and the big black Labrador Jacques, who is the Search & Rescue asset here.

You can also see our three elegant equines - the dressage boy - friendly dark bay Earnie, our momma Impie- the chestnut madam (Swedish Warmblood broodmare) and the very latest arrival -"Glenn of Orchy" aka Geena. She is our very promising sporthorse filly by the Hannoverian dressage Warmblood Sire "Kinnordy Gym Bello" (from Astek Stud Christchurch, born in 2010).

And of course the bossy boss Rosiethe grey cat and the newest addition to our family - the big, lovely B&W boy Šmudla. Miow...
